This was painted plein air on a day in early December that was surprisingly warm. I learned a valuable lesson that day; namely, that a warm day in December in Michigan feels a lot different when you're walking around then when you're out painting in it. I wore a sweatshirt and a fleece vest, but it was windy, and within 45 minutes, I was shaking so much from the cold, I had to pack up. And I'm a person who runs hot normally. Anyway, I had gotten a lot accomplished in my freezing frenzy, and only did a minor touchup in the studio.
